In his first start since October 1, 2010, Mariners right-hander Jeremy Bonderman struggled, surrendering seven runs in four and two-thirds innings of work as the Mariners went on to lose 10-0 to the Twins in this afternoon’s series finale. Bonderman allowed nine hits and walked one and only struck out one.
Bonderman hadn’t pitched particularly well with Triple-A Tacoma, posting a 4.52 ERA in 63.2 innings, but did earn Pitcher of the Week honors in the Pacific Coast League for April 29 through May 5, when he tossed eight scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Mariners manager Eric Wedge will let Bonderman make his next start, tweets Larry Stone. That will be on Friday at home against the Yankees.
