Roy Halladay rocked again, Phillies routed by Marlins

Phillies right-hander Roy Halladay seemed to be showing signs of a true turnaround when he rattled off three straight quality starts between April 14 and April 24. But the wheels have fallen off again.

Halladay was shelled for eight earned runs over 3 2/3 innings on April 30 in a 14-2 loss to the Indians and yielded nine earned runs in 2 1/3 innings in a 14-2 rout by the Marlins on Sunday.¬†Facing a 9-22 Miami team with a -51 run differential, “Doc” gave up four hits and four walks while throwing only 35 of his 65 pitches for strikes. His ERA shot from 6.75 to 8.65.

The Phillies are now 14-18 with a -34 run differential. It’s getting to the point where something drastic might have to be done. Halladay, 35, is a mess.
