Dayan Viciedo exited yesterday’s game with an oblique strain, but for now at least the White Sox left fielder is hoping to stay off the disabled list.
Viciedo suffered the injury on a swing-and-miss, falling to his knees afterward and leaving with the trainer. “When I swung, I was pretty bad,” Viciedo told Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com. “It feels a little better now. When I breathe hard, I feel it. But I don’t think it’s that bad.”
Oblique injuries tend to linger a whole lot longer than players initially think, so at the very least Viciedo is unlikely to play this weekend.
