Yesterday Mike Puma of the New York Post reported that the Mets were unimpressed with Brian Wilson’s audition. Marc Carig of Newsday reports, however, that there’s still a chance for these kids to make it work:

I noted yesterday that Wilson may have an incentive to wait things out and make a deal with someone midseason when he’s got more strength and, presumably, more leverage. By the same token, the Mets may have an incentive to showcase Wilson themselves, and if he is somewhat effective and healthy, flip him to a contender in the middle of the year.
