Dodgers trying to trade Nick Punto and Juan Uribe

After acquiring Skip Schumaker from the Cardinals the Dodgers are looking to trade both Nick Punto and Juan Uribe, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.

Punto should be movable, as he’s owed $1.5 million for 2013 and still a solid utility infielder with a good glove. Uribe, on the other hand, has been one of the very worst all-around players in baseball for the past two seasons and is set to make $8 million. Good luck finding a taker for deal.

Rosenthal speculates that the Dodgers might have to simply release Uribe because no team would want him on the roster even if they agreed to cover the entire remaining salary, which … well, it shows just how awful the signing was by general manager Ned Colletti. Two years into a three-year, $21 million deal Uribe has hit .199 with a .552 OPS in 143 games.

Astros third baseman Alex Bregman apparently wasn’t happy with his mustache on Sunday afternoon as he shaved it off in between innings during his team’s contest against the Royals. Bregman walked and later scored in the Astros’ eight-run second inning, but when he took his next plate appearance in the fourth inning, he was clean-shaven.

Sometimes you just need to switch things up. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

Bregman made a throwing error in the seventh and finished 0-for-4 with the walk on the afternoon. The Astros won 11-3.

Bregman isn’t the only player to make headlines for his facial hair recently. Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper recently shaved his signature beard. The Yankees approve of what both players have done.
