From Anthony Andro of FOXSportsSouthwest.com comes word that the Rangers have scratched second baseman Ian Kinsler from their starting lineup on Wednesday night because of a stomach virus.
Alberto Gonzalez will play second base and Elvis Andrus will fill in at the leadoff spot as Texas opens a two-game series against the visiting Athletics.
Kinsler is batting .275/.356/.471 with five home runs, five steals and 18 RBI in 174 plate appearances this season. He’s considered day-to-day but has to be considered questionable for Thursday’s matinee.
