Daniel Hudson’s shoulder “felt good” after bullpen session

Daniel Hudson took the mound yesterday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, throwing a 30-pitch bullpen session.

Hudson, who’s been on the DL since April 21, told Tyler Emerick of MLB.com that he “felt good” and “wanted to keep going.”

He’ll likely need to complete a couple more bullpen sessions and perhaps toss some live batting practice before the Diamondbacks clear Hudson to begin a minor-league rehab assignment, but returning to Arizona’s rotation by the end of the month now looks likely if he can avoid setbacks.

Hudson threw 222 innings with a 3.49 ERA and 169/50 K/BB ratio last season, but allowed 12 runs in 18 innings this year before being shut down.
