Obama: the Cardinals are “the greatest comeback team in the history of baseball”

The St. Louis Cardinals visited the White House today for the customary meet-and-greet with the President. During the ceremony he called the Cardinals “the greatest comeback team in the history of baseball.”

So you see there: the Braves didn’t collapse. The Cardinals came back. The President said so.

Anyway, not the usual star-studded White House visit as Albert Pujols (in Anaheim) and Tony La Russa (in some sort of secret hideout carved into a skull-shaped mountain) are no longer with the team.

Oh, and the rumor is that pitching coach Derek Lilliquist didn’t make it either. Seems they called him about the visit and said it was on Tuesday, but he thought they said to have Motte warm up alongside Rzepczynski.

I dunno either.
