The market for Coco Crisp is heating up a bit.
According to Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors, the Cubs and Dodgers have expressed interest, and have even engaged in discussions recently with representatives for the 32-year-old outfielder.
Crisp batted just .264/.314/.379 with eight homers and 54 RBI in 583 plate appearances this past season for the A’s, but he led the American League with 49 stolen bases and is capable of providing a useful element of speed to any major league roster.
The Cubs would likely have to trade Alfonso Soriano (and the $54 million remaining on his contract) to clear enough playing time. Crisp is known to prefer the West Coast, so Los Angeles might be the better fit anyway. The Tigers have also expressed interest.
