Theo Epstein officially resigned from his post as Red Sox general manager on Friday to become the Cubs’ new president of baseball operations.
Compensation still has to be worked out between the Red Sox and Cubs, but the deal is basically done.
And Theo is now saying his goodbyes.
According to Carolyn Manno of CSNNE.com, Epstein took out a full-page ad in Sunday’s Boston Globe, thanking Red Sox fans and the Red Sox organization for “10 incredible years.”

“It’s been a privilege to be part of the Red Sox for the last decade and an honor to work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated people in baseball,” reads the ad. “I’m proud of all we accomplished together.”
