Cubs draw thousands for “Movie Night at Wrigley Field”

The Cubs’ effort to generate some October revenue (for a change) apparently went off without a hitch.

According to the Associated Press, via NBCSports, around 10,000 Chicagoans showed up to a screening of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” Saturday night at Wrigley Field. And nearly a thousand of them took part in a pre-screening rendition of “Danke Schoen,” breaking a Guiness World Record for the most people signing in a round. (Whatever “singing in a round” means).

The movie was shown on three inflatable 30-foot projection screens. Admission cost $10 for bleacher seats, $25 for lawn seats, and $75 “for VIP lawn seating with food and drink at the Captain Morgan Club.”

So, uh, congrats Mr. Ricketts. Now put that money toward a new GM. Or maybe some new players?
