Tommy Hanson feels good after 44-pitch bullpen session

Tommy Hanson threw 44 pitches in a bullpen session this morning and afterward told Carroll Rogers of the Atlanta Journal Constitution that his injured shoulder felt good.

Hanson replied “I hope so” and “I think there’s a chance” when asked about potentially starting again before the regular season is over, but the Braves will wait to see how he feels tomorrow before deciding on the next step in his recovery.

Hanson last started on August 6, so even if he’s feeling 100 percent it would be tough for the Braves to trust him in the playoffs without seeing him in at least some game action first. Prior to being shut down Hanson allowed 24 runs in his last 27 innings, serving up eight homers.
