Aaron Crow ill, likely won’t pitch in All-Star Game

Not that he was all that likely to pitch anyway.

Royals setup man and unlikely AL All-Star Aaron Crow fell ill after arriving in Phoenix on Sunday and is probably won’t be pitch during tonight’s game.

“It’s either (strep throat) or a sinus infection,” Crow said. “(The doctor) gave me some medicine and I’m feeling a lot better.”

Despite the illness, Crow will be in uniform tonight.  After talking with AL coaches, it was decided that he’d only pitch if the game goes into extra innings.

He is expected to be ready to go when the Royals’ season resumed on Thursday.

You don’t see this every day …

Twins second baseman Brian Dozier hit a blast to dead-center field in the first inning of Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Tigers and it neither cleared the fence, nor banged off the fence, nor dropped in front of it.

Instead, the ball found a comfortable home inside the wall …

This isn’t the first wall-sticker for Dozier. He put a ball in the bullpen fence in Washington during an exhibition game against the Nationals back in 2016.
