Report: Cubs interview Eric Wedge for managerial spot

ESPN Chicago’s Bruce Levine reports that Cubs GM Jim Hendry went to Cleveland Thursday for a face-to-face interview with ex-Indians manager Eric Wedge.
Wedge, the AL Manager of the Year in 2007, was fired by the Indians following the 2009 season. In seven seasons at the helm of the tribe, he compiled a 561-573 record.
Levine believes that Wedge is a top candidate to become the permanent replacement for Lou Piniella in Chicago. Also in the running is current interim manager Mike Quade. Others expected to get interviews include Triple-A Iowa manager and former Cubs superstar Ryne Sandberg, fired Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez and Nationals coach Pat Listach.
The Cubs are not expected to name their new manager before the conclusion of the season.
