John Grabow out for the season with torn knee ligament

John Grabow heard something “pop” while rehabbing a knee injury in the minors Monday and will miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with a torn medial collateral ligament.
He finishes the year with a 7.36 ERA in 25.2 innings and has posted a 5.33 ERA in 50.2 total innings for the Cubs since being acquired from the Pirates along with Tom Gorzelanny in the middle of last season.
He’ll be back in Chicago next season thanks to the two-year, $7 million contract extension the Cubs gave him in November. Grabow will earn $4.8 million in 2011.
