J.D. Drew tweaks his hamstring

J.D. Drew left Friday’s game against the Dodgers after he pulled up lame while making a running catch to end the third inning. He was diagnosed with a strained right hamstring, but according to what Red Sox manager Terry Francona told Scott Lauber of the Boston Globe, it doesn’t look promising.

“He said he thought he felt a pop,” manager Terry Francona said.

Just a short while ago, Lauber tweeted that the team is still awaiting MRI results, however Drew said he is “very hopeful” that he will be able to avoid a stint on the disabled list. He’s expected to miss at least a couple days. Bill Hall, Daniel Nava and Darnell McDonald will be the starting outfield on Saturday afternoon. Yikes.
