Pedro Martinez officially named Game 2 starter

Charlie Manuel made things official this morning, naming Pedro Martinez to start Game 2 of the World Series.
Martinez has 38 career starts against the Yankees, including six in the postseason, but has faced them just once since 2006, allowing six runs in a blowout loss on June 27, 2008 as a member of the Mets.
Cliff Lee will start Game 1, followed by Martinez in Game 2 and Cole Hamels in Game 3. After that the Phillies’ rotation plans are unclear, because they could either go with J.A. Happ or Joe Blanton in Game 4 or choose to bring Lee back on short rest, which would also set him up to start a potential Game 7 on short rest.
In the latter scenario the series could feature three matchups between Lee and CC Sabathia, which would probably make Indians general manager Mark Shapiro’s head explode.
