Blue Jays activate Josh Johnson, Rajai Davis from the DL

Josh Johnson’s recovery from a strained triceps has been delayed several times by setbacks, but the right-hander is off the disabled list and back in the Blue Jays’ rotation.

Johnson has been on the DL since April 21 and got knocked around in his final rehab start, allowing six runs in 4.2 innings at Triple-A last week. He also had a 6.86 ERA in four starts before being shut down, so Johnson struggling initially shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Toronto also activated outfielder Rajai Davis, who’s been out since May 10 with a strained oblique. Ramon Ortiz was placed on the DL after injuring his elbow Sunday.
