With zero homers over his first 28 games this season, Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia entered last night’s action stuck on 99 home runs for his career. However, he finally busted out of his power drought when he took Athletics reliever Ryan Cook deep for a grand slam in the sixth inning. Not a bad way to reach a personal milestone.

The home run was reviewed for possible fan interference, but was eventually upheld. The Red Sox went on to defeat the Athletics 7-1.
Pedroia’s grand slam also pushed him to 503 RBI for his career. He’s the second player in franchise history to amass 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases, joining Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski.
