Rangers sign Brendan Harris to minor league contract

From Anthony Andro of FOX Sports Southwest comes word that the Rangers have agreed to a minor league pact with infielder Brendan Harris.

Harris has been assigned to Triple-A Round Rock, where he will function as infield depth for Texas.

The 32-year-old was released by the Angels on July 23 after batting just .206/.252/.355 over 117 plate appearances. He then caught on with the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but didn’t impress enough there to stick around very long.

Harris is a .256/.314/.381 career hitter in 1,876 major league plate appearances.

We know Clayton Kershaw will oppose Dallas Keuchel in Game 1 of the World Series. We now know the rest of the Dodgers’ rotation order, per Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. After Kershaw, it’ll be Rich Hill, then Yu Darvish, followed by Alex Wood.

No surprise, that’s the same order the Dodgers used in the NLCS against the Cubs. Dodger starters combined to post a 2.67 ERA with 31 strikeouts and four walks across 27 innings in the NLCS.

The Astros haven’t yet announced their rotation order, but we can safely assume Justin Verlander will follow Keuchel in Game 2.
